Your baby’s birth is not just another birth.
These uncertain times don’t have to mean you miss out on celebrating your pregnancy and preparing for birth and parenthood the way you desire and deserve.
We are here to help you feel empowered and connected as you enter this new stage of life!
When I was getting ready to give birth to my first daughter, I attended birth prep classes at the hospital where I was planning to deliver. One of the first questions the Labor & Delivery nurse facilitating the class asked was “By a show of hands, how many of you are planning to have an epidural.” This seemed like an appropriate insight for her to have, and about half the class raised their hands. I did not happen to be one of them (though I did end up having an epidural during that delivery…more about that another time!).
The PROBLEM was, though only half the class indicated they were planning to receive an epidural (meaning the other half were intending to allow nature to take its course if possible throughout their labors), the entire class was taught as though those who weren’t planning to receive an epidural were out of our minds for even considering it.
This experience gave me tremendous appreciation for those who are able to share necessary information on a topic without tainting it with their own judgments and expectations.
Which is one of the many reasons I was THRILLED when Tisha Graham decided to join the KindNest team. Given her breadth of education and experience, Tisha could perhaps be more “opinionated”. But she isn’t. Her pure intention is to help expecting couples have the information they need in order to come to the decisions (both beforehand and during labor, delivery and postpartum) that are truly right for them.
Whether you are planning to receive an epidural, are totally against it, or aren’t quite sure yet…whether you’ planning to breastfeed until the baby’s walking, until you return to work, or not at all…ensuring you have the information that will help you determine what’s truly best for YOU and YOUR FAMILY is all she cares about.
If that were not already enough, Tisha is one of the most comforting people you’ll ever meet. She has an intangible gift tough to put into words. I can’t count the number of clients who have shared with me how they’ve walked away from conversations with her feeling like, “well yeah, of course I can do this, and do it my way!”
